How to play

Guess the secret five-letter word. After each guess, the tiles tell you how close you were:

• Green — right letter, right spot.
• Amber — the letter is in the word, but somewhere else.
• Grey — the letter isn’t in the word, or your guess has more copies of it than the word.

You have six tries. Type with your keyboard or the on-screen one.

Scoring

Word Guess is ranked by fewest guesses. Each new game picks a word at random; a word can come up again.

Tips

• Open with a word rich in common letters and vowels.
• Use your second guess to test a fresh set of letters.
• Lock in greens, then shuffle the ambers into new positions.
